The problem we were trying to solve

The four people who started Finance Builder AI were not financial experts. They were working professionals in Birmingham — a software developer, a data analyst, a product designer, and someone who had worked in banking operations — who all had the same experience: they earned enough, but they could never quite explain where it all went.

They tried every budgeting app they could find. Most were either too complex for everyday use or too simple to be useful. The ones with good analysis required connecting a bank account to a service they had never heard of. The ones that felt safe were essentially just spreadsheets with a nicer interface.

So in August 2020 — during a period when a lot of people were looking more carefully at their finances — they built something different. The goal was not to manage your money for you. It was to show you what was actually happening, clearly, and then suggest what you might want to look at.

The company is registered in England and Wales as CONSTRUCTION BUILDERS CLEAN LTD (Companies House No. 12828036), based at 15 Fallow Walk, Birmingham, West Midlands, B32 3UB. The Finance Builder AI platform is the primary product.
